Wishing on Dandelions
May 1, 2023
The story goes, if you blow all the seeds off a dandelion in one breath, then the person you love will love you back.
I wish to be the wind,
A gentle caress across your cheek
Then down towards your neck.
I wish to be the Sun,
A blanket of warmth
Embracing your being.
I wish to be the rain,
A pattering of soft kisses
on your forehead,
your nose,
And then your lips.
I wish to be the grass,
Long tendrils entangled
Finding their way back home
in the space between your fingers.
I wish to be the moon,
A thief stealing shy glances
From behind the cloak of night.
